Install-SPUserSolution cmdlet

Apr 29, 2011 at 8:10 PM

When issuing the SharePoint Management Shell command:
Install-SPUserSolution -Identity PAC.SharePoint.VersionInfoInDocs2010(v1.1).wsp -Site

I get the error:
The term 'v1.1' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again. At line:1 char:75+ Install-SPUserSolution -Identity PAC.SharePoint.VersionInfoInDocs2010(v1.1 <<<< ).wsp

I find it ironic that your naming convention that includes the version number is incompatible with powershell.

Just rename the .wsp file to not have ( ) and it works.

Thanks for reporting this, although it would have been more polite if you had said thanks for giving a solution away for free rather than commenting on how "ironic" you found it

Thank you for the solution, and thanks for reporting my manners.  I will try to me more polite in the future.
